We are proud to launch Homeward Bound 8: a cohort of more than 110 women from 18 countries selected for our global leadership initiative, based on their outstanding potential to lead and to create better outcomes for the planet.

The Homeward Bound 8 women with a STEMM (science, technology, engineering, medicine or maths) background include: a software development manager, a TV executive producer, an urban planner, a solar photovoltaic renewable energy engineer, a professor of statistics and a philanthropy executive.

The women are from 25 nationalities and represent the diversity, initiative, bravery and collaboration that is championed at Homeward Bound.

They are part of the Homeward Bound vision to develop a 10,000-strong globally diverse network of women by 2036 who can support each other in creating change, ensuring the sustainability of our planet.

Homeward Bound CEO, Pamela Sutton-Legaud said: “Homeward Bound is delighted to see such a diverse range of talented women join the leadership initiative in 2023 before heading to Antarctica. We know that they will be effective additions to the Homeward Bound alumnae group of more than 600 women with a background in STEMM on completion of the initiative.”

Homeward Bound founder Fabian Dattner said: “We are, of course, incredibly proud to announce the final selection of women with a STEMM background for Homeward Bound 8. We know the courage, determination and intention that goes into putting yourself forward for Homeward Bound. There is increasing urgency for us in elevating your visibility and influence as leaders. We welcome you all and we will do everything in our power to support you on this part of your journey. All the women of Homeward Bound celebrate this moment with you.”

Team HB8 will start the 12-month online leadership initiative in May, 2023 before voyaging to Antarctica in the 2024/25 Antarctic season.
