Abeer is an international development professional with culture and heritage, peace-building, and NGOs expertise. She has experience with key multilateral/international development organisations and funds and national/regional agencies (UN agencies, USAID, DFID, SIDA, JICA, GiZ, IsDB, SFD, SMEPs, SFD, AFESD).
Abeer currently chairs The Sustainable Development Association (talga), which aims to localise and culturalise the SDGs in alignment with Vision 2030 & the Saudi Quality of Life Program. Currently, she is working on projects that serve socio-economic & environmental prosperity in planting more trees to reduce the effects of desertification and applying new economical models that promote zero carbon emissions such as the methods of the blue economy and the circular carbon economy. Abeer is passionate about dedicating her lifetime to projects that will preserve and bring life back to endangered species, land and the planet.
Additionally, Abeer is a multi-faceted creative, inspired by her surroundings and what she calls her “Cosmic Desert” adventures in Saudi and throughout Arabia, she produces art on canvas utilising the available magical natural materials. She is also a certified RYA Day Skipper sailor, a horse rider, an experienced hiker, and a collector of Indochina/Contemporary Islamic art.
