Alexandria dreamed of being a veterinarian since a young age. Growing up in regional South Australia she has always loved animals and developed a keen interest in wildlife ecology and conservation.
After a brief stint working in New Zealand after graduation, she moved back to Australia to take up a position in North West Tasmania as a mixed animal veterinarian and wildlife researcher. Alexandria works in a private veterinary practice where she is studies platypus and bandicoot to help develop a framework for assessing population health.
She is passionate about working with veterinary students to inspire them to continue using their scientific skills past graduation to continue contributing to science. She believes veterinarians have the knowledge and skills to contribute to many STEM disciplines and help shape Australia’s future. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, hiking, and travelling.
