Allie is pursuing her passion for regenerative medicine by conducting research under Dr. Robert Langer, as an F32- and CFF-funded Postdoctoral Research Fellow at MIT. She previously received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering conducting pulmonary tissue engineering research under Dr. Laura Niklason at Yale University. In her first year of graduate school she co-founded and led a medical device start-up focused on helping patients with chronic lung disease. She is dedicated to increasing diversity in STEM, particularly engineering, and was formerly the President of the Society of Women Engineers at Yale, of which she is also a founding member. She hails from rural Pennsylvania and received her Bachelor’s in BME from Tufts University, where she was a trip leader for Tufts Wilderness Orientation.
