Amelia is a geologist, environmentalist, conservationist, and adventurer. She earned a BS in geology from Wayne State University and an MS in geothermal energy from the University of Iceland. She has worked in renewable energy and environmental remediation and currently works in San Francisco for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, a non-profit that supports 37 Bay Area parks. Amelia has lived, worked, and studied on three continents and looks forward to exploring the southernmost continent with her colleagues. Through this opportunity, she hopes to develop her leadership skills and be a better mentor to the next generation of STEM women.
