ANDREA FIDGETT

Director, Wildlife Nutrition
British, United States
Dr Andrea Fidgett has been providing nutrition solutions to species conservation for more than 25 years through scientific study and practical experience. She brings expertise, enthusiasm and drive to the discipline of comparative wildlife nutrition, directly contributing to the health and welfare of animals by making diets better. At San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance she leads the department of Wildlife Nutrition in their work to ensure all life thrives. Andrea is a warm and empathetic leader and mentor, and a lifelong learner who is endlessly curious. Proactive in exploring and managing high level collaborations with academic investigators, she is always open to areas of interdisciplinary research beyond her discipline, ‘match-making’ ideas and projects with people in the conservation community. She enjoys landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes – habitats in all their forms – and loves travelling to explore them, not least for the mini-adventures and interesting people she meets along the way…
