Anna Ferre-Mateu is an astrophysicist that studies how galaxies form and evolve. This quest has taken her to live, literally, all around the globe: Canaries, Hawaii, Australia and since 2018 she is back in Barcelona. Nature-lover, avid traveler, adventure addicted and cancer survivor, one of the places she is more in awe is atop ancient volcanos observing the Universe from the telescopes. These facilities are mostly located in pristine and very fragile environments. Her hope for HB6 is to gain the necessary skills to become more vocal and present into developing a next generation of observatories that are both culture and environmentally appropriate, while learning on the journey on how to be a true leader in STEMM… and while living one of the greatest adventures of all, Antartica!
