CATHERINE SORBARA

Project Manager, Greenpeace International
Canadian, Netherlands
Cathy completed her PhD in 2014 at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. Her dissertation focused on the molecular mechanisms which lead to axon degeneration in Multiple Sclerosis. But when she moved to the Netherlands, Cathy decided to explore a different path. Cathy now dedicates her time to creating a healthier planet and sustainable future. She works as a Project Manager at Greenpeace International and does many side hustles. She coaches ARTivism for Climate Action – an after school program for girls in Amsterdam where she teaches them about climate change, using art as a medium to express themselves. She is also Co-President of Net Impact Amsterdam, a member organisation for professionals who seek to deepen their skills, relationships, and expertise in the field of environmental and social sustainability and impact.
