Dr. Charlotte Conn is a Vice Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellow in the School of Science at RMIT University, a mum of two, and a keen runner. Originally from Northern Ireland, Charlotte obtained a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Biophysical Chemistry from Imperial College London, before moving to Melbourne in 2006. She currently holds an Australian Research Council Fellowship investigating the use of soft nanomaterials to improve the efficacy of protein and peptide based drugs, including anti-microbial peptides which are key contenders in the fight against global antibiotic resistance. She is passionate about gender equity in STEM and currently chairs the Equity and Diversity committee for the Australian Colloid and Interface Society.
