Daisy is a geneticist by trade, and spent four years studying sexual inheritance in algae for her PhD with the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Cambridge. Obsessed with the evolution of biodiversity, she is driven to communicate science and her love of science to the public at large whether through written and visual media such as her blog; Pineapples and Whales, or through comedy (Daisy is a part of a science improv theatre group, CatCave9).
