Danielle is a research leader & educator in chemistry at University of Wollongong & Deputy Director at the Molecular Horizons institute. Danielle’s research is inspired by the extraordinary natural chemistry around us from coastal seaweeds to deep-sea sponges. Danielle also studies the complex sugars that decorate the surface of our cells leading to new pathways in cancer treatment & detection. Danielle is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute with a PhD from the Australian National University & her science has taken her to the UK, Germany, Italy, France & Spain. Danielle is a passionate STEM advocate who works closely with industry, community and government and strives to create a more welcoming, respectful and inclusive STEM environment for all. In her free time, Danielle loves to travel around Australia & the globe with her family & two boys.
