Dr Deidre Cleland is a Research Scientist in the DATA61 Molecular and Materials Modelling Team at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). Originally from New Zealand, Deidre gained a Bachelors degree at the University of Otago, and then relocated to the UK to complete her PhD at the University of Cambridge. Deidre’s research at DATA61 in Melbourne is now focused on developing software for modelling the behaviour and properties of molecules and materials. Deidre loves being back in Australasia, where she can spend more time with family and explore the beautiful NZ and Australian outdoors as much as possible.
