American living in the USA
Ellen’s professional career spans three decades in Neuroscience and Biotechnology. In her capacity as Senior Scientist, Ellen was instrumental in the development of a life changing, state-of-the-art medical device, managing the project from initial concept phase to successful product launch.
During her career, Ellen earned her Master’s degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. With support from the Hopkins Center for Global Health, she was provided an opportunity to spend six months in South America managing a prospective clinical study that explored how El Nino climate patterns indirectly affected health outcomes of children in northern, rural villages in Peru. This experience, in addition to the increasing awareness of the global environmental crisis, were catalysts for applying to the Homeward Bound Women in STEMM Leadership Program.
The Homeward Bound year-long program focusing on leadership, visibility, strategy, and environmental science were instrumental in empowering her to make a major life change from corporate employment to independent consulting. As an independent consultant, Ellen helps Medical Device companies navigate the safety and regulatory compliance processes necessary to bring transformative medical devices to market.
