Emma Pidduck
Analyst / Account Manager - Data Support at European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts
Living in England, United Kingdom
Emma’s love of sailing, oceans and the environment led her to complete a BSc (Hons) and PhD in Marine Sciences, with a focus on the physical drivers of marine geochemistry in estuaries. She followed this with four years as an Environmental Consultant and Project Manager in the offshore renewable energy sector, focusing on environmental risk assessments to protect the natural marine environment.
For the past five years, Emma has been working at the intersection between user support, data policy development, and partnerships in the weather and climate sector at the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). In this role, her hope is to foster collaborations between research, industry and academia, and to increase the usage of weather data by providing support. She wants to promote the visibility and representation of women in STEMM by encouraging all generations to understand the benefits of inclusivity and collaboration.
Outside of her professional life, Emma has a passion for helping people, learning, sailing, walking, and paddle boarding.
