Emma is a neurodivergent science communicator, space enthusiast and entrepreneur with a background in physics and a passion for wildlife and conservation. Having graduated top of her year in Astrophysics and become the first woman to win Student of the Year in the UK Science, Engineering and Technology Student of the Year awards, she completed her PhD in Cosmology, and has since worked in a wide variety of fields from science communication for the Royal Institution, to project management, forestry and construction, and was one of the top 2% of candidates in the 2021 ESA astronaut selection process.
Emma is passionate about sustainability, has volunteered on wildlife conservation projects around the world, and is now pursuing a career in Space Architecture and Engineering. She believes that space exploration is a powerful force for driving technological advancements with which to address the ecological crisis facing our planet, and is enthusiastic about tackling off-world design challenges with a view to improving how we live on Earth.
