Erin is a marine conservation biologist turned ocean policy nerd with broad experience connecting science with public policy to advance ocean health. She recently launched her own consulting firm, Blue Sparks Strategies, to provide marine science and policy expertise to mission-driven clients advancing ocean conservation strategies around the world. She was a Founding Steering Committee member for the Environmental Law Institute’s Emerging Leaders Initiative, and has led coalitions, campaigns, and projects to advance science-based ocean policy solutions such as marine protected areas, plastic pollution reduction laws, sustainable fishing policies and practices, offshore renewable energy development, and more. She received her M.A. in Conservation Biology from Columbia University in 2015, and has worked for a range of NGOs and government agencies to advance ocean conservation issues, including the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the National Ocean Protection Coalition, and the Society for Conservation Biology.
