Esther is a PhD student at Weill Cornell Medicine. After getting her bachelor degree in Biology, she moved to New York with a Fulbright Scholarship to study a master’s degree at Mount Sinai. She is currently working on her thesis in the Petrini lab, where she is studying the machinery in charge of repairing DNA damage and its role in preventing cancer. Coming from a rural area, Esther is passionate about nature, and she has a strong interest in preserving the biodiversity in our planet. She is also committed to making scientific research more sustainable.
