Policy and Advice Officer in Marine Ornithology

In her job as a marine ornithologist, Helen combines her research interests with policy by advising government on how seabirds are affected by human activities such as renewable energy developments at sea and fisheries. Helen has a PhD and MSc in ecology, a BA in English, a teaching qualification and used to be a zoo keeper. She has worked around the world on conservation and science projects and loves working collaboratively. Helen is passionate about encouraging a greater respect for our natural world and working to ensure women’s voices are heard when important decisions are being made.
