Ines was born and raised in Venezuela, where she got a Bachelor degree in Geochemistry. She moved to Australia to complete a PhD in Applied Chemistry researching past marine environments, as old as 380 million years, affected by ecological crises. As a geochemist she uses molecular fossils and their isotopic composition to reconstruct environmental conditions in natural systems. Currently she uses those tools to explore for oil and gas around the world. She is a passionate geoscientist that loves the outdoors, is always sharing optimistic views and is ready to fight against stereotypes. Ines is constantly looking for opportunities to learn, grow and inspire others to do the same.
