Jane is a geologist specialising in plate tectonics, geophysics, earthquakes, tsunamis, and natural hazard mitigation. She has worked in a variety of roles in minerals, environment and energy industries, and spent seven years with UNESCO assisting with implementation of the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System. Her current research interests include recent tectonics on the southern and western margins of Australia, submarine landslides and tsunamis on Australia’s southern margin, and using geophysical methods to better understand the distribution of radioactive fallout following nuclear testing. Jane enjoys sharing her passion for science through teaching, mentoring and media outreach.
