With a degree in (quantitative) Economics, and PhD in hydrogeological-economic modelling, Dr Gomboso’s research career focusses on integrating science and economics. Jay is currently Director of Biosecurity Economics with ABARES, Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. Previously, she was the Senior Nature Conservation Policy Adviser with the WA Department of Conservation and Land Management, and Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in water resource at Australia’s CSIRO. Jay also has a strong interest in antimicrobial resistance in agriculture and biosecurity “gamification”. Outside biosecurity, Jay runs an Aussie wool clothing company (ReddDog), raises money for Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation, and is a typical mum.
