Julia an environmental toxicologist working at the European Food Safety Authority as a scientific project coordinator in the areas of food and feed safety. She has been working for over 10 years as a scientific officer mainly in environmental and consumer risk assessment in other regulatory EU bodies: the EU medicines agency and also the chemicals agency. She received her PhD from the University of Birmingham – UK, and before moving to Italy for her latest post in 2020, she studied and worked mostly and in the UK, US and Finland. Julia is inspired by the message of Homeward Bound and believes that in our changing planet, bringing people together to work for a common good is the most powerful way to inspire and encourage all of us to embrace challenges facing the world and our communities.
