Dr Karin Plummer is a children’s cancer nurse and clinician researcher dedicated to minimising harm and reducing unnecessary pain and distress for hospitalised children. She advocates for the integration of medical and psychological interventions to develop kinder and less toxic pain treatment options for children.
As a Lecturer in Nursing at Griffith University, and Honorary Research Fellow in the Children’s Hospital Queensland Department of Anaesthesia and Pain, Karin integrates research with her clinical expertise in paediatric pain management. Supported by the Kids Cancer Project Early Career Research Fellowship, Karin is developing digital health solutions for pain management during children’s cancer treatment.
Karin is the Chair-elect of the Australian Pain Society’s Paediatric Pain Special Interest Group and her work serves to amplifying the consumer voice in children’s cancer research.
