Katie is a Mechanical Engineer with a passion for environmental and social change. She has worked in pressure vessel design and manufacture in Ireland, clean cookstove design in Kenya, and a microgrid supplier in Germany, Zambia and Myanmar, harnessing hydro and solar power for off-grid locations. Outside of her current role at Engineers Without Borders, Katie is a volunteer Project Co-ordinator for Refill Ireland, and is a Zero Waste and STEM Ambassador. She is also a board member of EIL Intercultural Learning and The Urban Co-op. You will most likely find her hiking up a mountain or swimming in the sea, whenever she has spare time (whatever that is).
