Kirsten Maclean is Senior Research Scientist (Human Geographer) at CSIRO. She uses participatory co-research practices for sustainable and innovative planning and management of cultural and natural resources in Australia. Her work supports research and innovation across Indigenous, government and industry sectors. It creates opportunities for Reconciliation via the protection of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property and aims to generate immediate and ongoing benefits for Indigenous Australians. Kirsten is passionate about championing change for women and girls in science. She believes leadership for change takes many forms including, for example, breaking down perceptions about careers in science and STEMM and sparking the curiosity of her two young daughters as they explore their world.
