Lorna Slater is the responsible for delivering the FloTEC Horizon 2020 project to build a commercial 2MW tidal turbine. The turbine is currently in final design and will be installed in Orkney, Scotland next year. Lorna is also a volunteer with the Scottish Green Party where she holds the post of Operations Convener, and is responsible for much for much of the day-to-day functioning of the party. Lorna was the Scottish Green’s candidate for Edinburgh North and Leith in the 2017 General Election. Lorna is from Canada and studied Electro-mechanical engineering at UBC before moving to Britain in 2000.
