Madeleine is a Manchester geographer using fieldwork to discover the impact of past glaciation on rivers in the High Atlas Mountains, Morocco. Her interest in environments on Earth (and Mars!) stems from roots on the Shetland Islands (UK), childhood in Bodø (Norway) and an education on the cliffs of Whitby (UK). Madeleine is a proactive promoter of equality for women in education and academia. She is a graduate of Geology (MSci) at the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London and alumna of the Fulbright/U.S. State Department ‘Study of the U.S. Institute on Environmental Issues’ at the University of Oregon.
