Maria Molina is a Central Michigan University doctoral student, researching severe thunderstorm sub-seasonal and seasonal variability. She earned a master’s degree from Columbia University in Climate and Society and a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in Meteorology, with minors in Mathematics and Communications. While at Florida State, she was a member of the Women in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering organization and Chi Epsilon Pi Meteorology Honor Society. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. Previously, Molina was a national television meteorologist and covered natural disasters, including Sandy and the 2011 Japan tsunami.
