Senior Research Scientist, Tech Lead Quantum Device Packaging
American living in Santa Barbara, California, USA
Marissa Giustina is a senior research scientist who works with a team in Santa Barbara, California toward building a useful quantum computer. Giustina studied electrical and materials engineering at Dartmouth College (USA) before pursuing a PhD in experimental quantum information at the University of Vienna (Austria). Giustina’s thesis was published in 2016 and focused on systems she designed and built for conscientiously testing Bell’s inequality using entangled optical photons. A hybrid “quantum applied philosopher” and passionate engineer of efficient systems, Giustina wears many technical hats. She is also a highly-sought speaker for both technical and lay audiences.
