Lecturer in Biomedical Science, University of New England
Dr Mary McMillan is an early career academic, holding a position as Lecturer in Biomedical Science at the University of New England. In this role she works with the Brain-Behaviour Research Group studying genetic and biomarkers in mental health disorders. She also coordinates the UNE Science Pathways program, providing students with an alternative pathway into tertiary study. As both a scientist and a mother, Mary is passionate about science outreach and communication, particularly in rural and regional areas, to involve children in STEM. She is also a keen supporter of early career researchers and women in science.
