Dr Megan Oaten is a Senior Lecturer with the Menzies Health Institute, Griffith University, Gold Coast, Australia. Her research focusses on stigmatisation and disease-avoidant behaviour in humans. Megan has been the recipient of the prestigious Australian Postdoctoral Fellowship (2010-2012), funded by the Australian Research Council, and is currently the lead CI on an Australian Research Council Discovery Project Grant “Determining the role of disease avoidance in stigmatisation” (2015-2018). She has worked as an editor on the Royal Society’s Special Issue in Philosophical Transactions B on Behavioural disease avoidance: From animals to culture.
