PhD Candidate, CSIRO - Agriculture and Food & RMIT University - Applied Chemistry
Meltem is a PhD student working in the Applied Chemistry Department at RMIT and Food Innovation Centre at CSIRO. Originally from Istanbul, Meltem’s lifelong wanderlust fuelled her curiosity and led her to Melbourne to study for an MSc in Food Science at the University of Melbourne. Her current research focuses on understanding the interactions between food structure and digestion to be used as a tool to modulate digestion kinetics. Meltem is passionate about identifying and communicating innovative approaches and opportunities to mitigate threats to food security. As an advocate for gender equity in STEMM, she is looking forward to joining the Homeward Bound family to create a more sustainable future.
