Meltem is a Food Texture Scientist at Gourmey, specializing in the structure of cell-based meat products. Originally from Istanbul, Meltem’s lifelong wanderlust fueled her curiosity and led her to Melbourne to study for an MSc in Food Science at the University of Melbourne. She furthered her academic journey by working as a PhD student in the Applied Chemistry Department at RMIT and the Food Innovation Centre at CSIRO. Meltem is passionate about identifying and communicating innovative approaches and opportunities to mitigate threats to food security. As an advocate for gender equity in STEMM, she is joining the Homeward Bound family to create a more sustainable and equitable future.
