Michele Finn is currently working as a senior project manager for Volkert & Associates, Inc. supporting the State of Alabama’s diverse portfolio of coastal restoration and resiliency activities funded through the RESTORE Act (Deepwater Horizon restitution fund). She also is the Founder of her own environmental consulting firm, M.A.Finn Consulting, LLC which now almost exclusively serves non profit organizations. Michele retired from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Commissioned Officer Corps with 25 years of service to the United States after attaining the rank of Captain (O-6). She supported environmental programs as an aircraft pilot, ship officer, scuba diver, biologist and program manager. Michele served as the Assistant Superintendent of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, Chief of Staff of the National Ocean Service and the Deputy Director of the NOAA Gulf of Mexico Disaster Response Centre. Michele is now focussed on environmental project management, operations planning and contract/grant proposal development. She sits on the Board of Directors for the African Aquatic Conservation Fund and Oceans Unmanned and is an active volunteer with animal rescue and marine conservation programs.
