Nad E Kattan
Consultant Audiologist at King Fahad Medical City - Rehabilitation Hospital
Living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Dr. Nad Kattan is from Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. She earned her B.Sc. in Speech and Hearing Therapy from King Saud University in Riyadh, and her Au.D. from Northwestern University in the United States. After graduating, she worked for a year at Yale Hearing and Balance Center. She currently works as a consultant audiologist at a tertiary care hospital in her hometown. Nad is passionate about her field and hopes to play a positive role in increasing awareness and improving the quality of hearing healthcare in her community.
Although she has cared about the environment from a young age, there had not been any easily accessible channels in Saudi Arabia to foster this interest. Nevertheless, she and her family did the most they could at an individual level in terms of preserving energy and recycling. She hopes that what she gains from HomewardBound, along with her countryās current 2030 Vision, which includes green initiatives and sustainability goals, she will be able to participate in making a positive impact in this region. Ā
Outside of work, she enjoys leisure reading, traveling to various destinations, and exploring new places. She has volunteered in humanitarian hearing mission trips in the Middle East, as well as in building classrooms in Zanzibar.Ā She has been to six continents (only one more to go!) and hopes to visit the last (Antarctica) sometime soon. She also hopes to build up to climbing a mountain next year.Ā
