Dr. Nad Kattan is a clinical audiologist from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, who is driven by a passion to alleviate the effects of hearing loss and enhance the quality of life of those she serves. She holds a B.Sc. in Speech and Hearing Therapy from King Saud University in Riyadh, and an Au.D. from Northwestern University in the U.S. After completing her studies, Nad refined her expertise at the Yale Hearing and Balance Center before returning to her hometown, where she currently practices at a leading tertiary care hospital. Motivated by a desire to make a positive impact, she is committed to raising awareness and improving the quality of hearing healthcare in her community.
Beyond her professional work, Nad has long been concerned with environmental issues, though for many years there were limited avenues in Saudi Arabia to channel this interest. Despite this, she and her family have always prioritized energy conservation and recycling. Now, with the country’s Vision 2030, which includes ambitious sustainability goals and green initiatives, Nad hopes to leverage her experiences with Homeward Bound to contribute to her nation’s environmental efforts and further her personal commitment to a sustainable future.
On a personal note, Nad enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring new cultures. She cherishes meaningful relationships and seeks out new experiences. She has participated in several international humanitarian hearing missions and has visited six continents – just one more to go! Nad is particularly excited to join the upcoming Homeward Bound voyage to Antarctica, where she will connect with inspiring women in STEMM and continue her global journey of exploration and discovery.
