Natasha is a Senior Lecturer in geography and environmental science at the University of Western Australia. Her research links the social, ecological and spatial sciences, emphasising how integrating local environmental knowledge and perceptions within planning frameworks can create better outcomes for people and nature.
She is an award-winning educator, teaching university courses in sustainable development and environmental policy, planning and management. Natasha also mentors and supervises student researchers across a wide range of fields.
An avowed nature-lover, she takes every opportunity to teach her two young boys about plants, animals, landscapes and seascapes. In her spare time, she loves to create visual art, working across textiles, fibre arts, printmaking, drawing and painting.
