Nia is a South Asian Canadian scholar, artist, and advisor based in McGill University’s Faculty of Engineering. Having majored in Biochemistry and Chemical Engineering, Nia went on to earn their doctorate in the field of regenerative medicine, designing a perfusion-based biomedical device to study cell therapy applications. Most passionate about the convergence of STEMM and social justice, Nia is a strategist for cultural transformation in Higher Education. The Homeward Bound experience has been instrumental in developing Nia’s personal leadership philosophy and narrative. Continuously striving for authenticity and inclusivity, Nia seeks to honour compassion, colour, and community in their practice.
