Priscila Picado is a sustainability and climate change consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Born and raised in Costa Rica, she leads the climate agenda for the IDB’s country office, focusing on integrating climate change mitigation and adaptation actions across the Bank’s portfolio.
Priscila is an Agricultural Engineer from EARTH University, holds a master’s degree in Natural Resource Management with an emphasis on Environmental Management from UNED, and an MBA from INCAE Business School with an emphasis on Sustainability and Entrepreneurship.
Her expertise spans agricultural engineering, earth sciences, environmental education, and conservation and ocean-related issues, showcasing her diverse contributions to the field. With extensive experience in sustainability, public policies, business strategy, and international cooperation, Priscila has worked across the private sector, public institutions, and international organizations, including the United Nations. Her work encompasses transparency, climate metrics and ambition, NDC updates, and decarbonization and adaptation projects.
Beyond her consultancy work, Priscila has served as a university faculty member in natural resource management and strategic sustainable transformation. She is the co-owner of ESQUIPI, a family business focused on developing and producing innovative cleaning and sanitizing solutions. She also represents RELIGAR as its president, a non-profit organization dedicated to the sustainable socio-economic development of individuals and communities. Priscila’s mission is to ensure that every individual recognizes their potential and their role as an essential part of both social and natural ecosystems. Her commitment to reducing inequalities, particularly for women and underrepresented communities, is integral to her professional and personal journey.
