Cilla graduated with a PhD in Ecology and Māori from the University of Waikato, and her current research focusses on connections between culture and biodiversity, and ecological restoration. She also studies terrestrial alpine crickets. She is passionate about inclusivity and diversity in science, and is a mother of three amazing young adults.
