Bec is an advocate, athlete, engineer, and therapeutic crocheter. She has found herself to be an “accidental” trailblazer, as she spent her life moving in the direction that felt right for her. Bec was one of only a few females graduating from mechanical engineering in the 90s, and at the same time pioneered women’s involvement in surf boat rowing and rugby union, being selected in Australia’s first Women’s Rugby World Cup squad. She remains to this day a team tragic.
Having carved out a notable career in commercial real estate, Bec is known throughout the industry as a creative thinker, straight talker and empathetic leader. In parallel, she has been a fierce DE&I advocate, shaping corporate policies and agitating for change in the areas of gender, LGBT+ and mental health. Bec is often called upon to publicly share her experiences as a woman in enginerering, along with her achievements in sport and outdoor adventure. Bec currently works in a role she crafted that sits at the intersection of technology and the human experience. She questions everything and is the most excitable person in her workplace.
Bec finds sanctuary in nature and is committed to driving environmental change in the real estate industry which contributes to 40% of the global greenhouse gas emissions annually. Whenever she can, Bec escapes into the mountain, onto the sea or under the water, recharging and reconnecting with the natural planet.
