Samira Darvishi

Hardware (Microfluidics) Engineer, Google-X
Iranian, living in San Francisco, CA, USA
Samira is an aerospace engineer turned fluid dynamicist; she is an expert in fluid flow at small scale: microfluidics. She enjoys building hardware within multidisciplinary teams, especially for biotech projects, where sci-fi dreams can come true. A few examples of her recent works are leading a team to develop point of care diagnostic devices for detection of COVID-19 using CRISPR, building a microfluidics platform for RNA/DNA synthesis, and developing a technology to 3D print human organs. Reading poetry, playing her cello, biking uphill and baking boring cakes are some of Samira’s favorite ways to feel grounded.
