Her natural curiosity has led her to work internationally across industry, government and academia on a wide range of areas including science policy, technology R&D, artificial intelligence research, digital trust, and organisational change. Shakti’s career is driven by the scale of collaboration required to solve increasingly complex and interconnected global societal challenges. An aerospace engineer by background, Shakti leads a technology research & innovation team within the UK Civil Service.
Shakti believes good leaders are the ‘glue that hold people together.’ She is an ardent advocate of evidence-informed policymaking, and the power of diverse teams and perspectives within STEMM. Shakti values inclusive leadership and multidisciplinary, collaborative, cross-sector approaches to problem solving. In her spare time, she can be found letting loose creatively, often behind a potter’s wheel.
