Shannon completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Western Ontario in 2008 before returning to Sudbury in Northern Ontario to practice in a broad range of clinical contexts. She completed a Masters of Nursing in Advanced Nursing Practice through Athabasca University in 2016 and holds her Nurse Practitioner licence in Ontario with a Primary Health Care specialty certificate. She currently holds academic appointments the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. She has completed a broad range of professional development related to Concussion, Sports Medicine and Hormone Replacement. She currently participates and publishes research in process improvement in healthcare systems, interprofessional care and concussion care strategies.
Outside of work, she shares her spare time with her husband and two children enjoying everything Northern Ontario has to offer.
