ARC DECRA Research Fellow, Monash University
Sharna is a cognitive neuroscientist based at Monash Institute for Cognitive and Clinical Neurosciences and ARC Centre of Excellence of Integrative Brain Function at Monash University. Sharna is passionate about learning about the brain dynamics that underlie our behaviour, in both health and disease. In her ARC DECRA Fellowship, Sharna is studying how older people can compensate for age-related changes in the brain, to maintain cognition at healthy functioning levels even in the presence of significant brain pathology. The ultimate goal of this research is to develop a therapeutic intervention to help older people live healthy and independent lives for longer.
