Tammy is a marine conservation scientist based in the UK, with research interests in using an evidence-based approach to address social-ecological problems, and a particular fondness for marine protected areas. She has been fortunate to work for a variety of academic and non-governmental organisations spanning the UK, Canada, and Madagascar; experiences which have developed her love and respect for the ocean, alongside the need for consideration of social science.
Tammy is currently the Marine Science Coordinator at BirdLife International, where she oversees the science work that underpins the BirdLife International Marine Programme. She works at the science-policy interface, providing technical input to regional and global policy mechanisms and decision-making processes to support conservation action for seabirds and wider marine biodiversity.
When she’s not at work you can find her walking her dog, lifting weights, snowboarding or diving (when the opportunity arises), or on the hunt for a good croissant!
