VALENTINA TARANOVIC

Post-doctoral Fellow, CSIRO Mineral Resources
WA, Australia, originally from Serbia
Dr Valentina Taranovic moved to the United States to pursue a dream of becoming a volcanologist, but has since changed her focus to studying Nickel-sulfide ore deposits associated with magma – she now hikes volcanoes for fun. Valentina was a university lecturer and an instructor for eight years teaching more than a thousand students how to responsibly take part in societal, political, and economic decision-making involving stewardship of the natural environment and resources. Most recently, she was invited to study the most significant Nickel-sulfide ore deposit discovered in Australia over the last decade, and moved to Perth, WA, in early 2017.
