Being part of the Homeward Bound Global Leadership Summit in Tanzania is, for me, an opportunity to grow as a leader who leads with both courage and care, to learn from and alongside an extraordinary global network of women, and to return with the tools and clarity to amplify change.
This entire Homeward Bound leadership program weaves together my inner journey and my outer work. I am a renewable energy expert, working to accelerate the energy transition and decarbonise the energy sector; and I am also a seeker of meaning and community, a yoga practitioner, and a student of wisdom traditions. I have often found myself working at the edges of entrenched systems, challenging policies and narratives that no longer serve people and the planet.
This program has reaffirmed what I have always felt deep inside: the leadership our times must embrace both head and heart. It must be collaborative and inclusive, for no single person or perspective can deliver the transformation we need. And it must be legacy-minded. True leadership is not about titles or positions, it is about leaving behind a more just, more compassionate world. I am guided by the seven generations mindset, which asks us to consider the impact of every decision not only in the present, but on those who will live seven generations into the future.

How I Will Carry This Forward
The skills, knowledge, and sisterhood I gain through Homeward Bound will flow directly into my work as an analyst at IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency), and into my future project of co-founding ALUNA, an independent think tank shaping narratives and strategies for a just energy transition in Latin America. The vision of ALUNA is disruptive because it refuses to fuel silos or perpetuate polarization. It disrupts by creating cohesion, by focusing on solutions, and by placing care, community, and the flourishing of life at the center. It is collaborative, inclusive and legacy minded – Homeward Bound’s leadership values as well. This is why this program is so close to my heart and so important for me.
